Chicago schools open probe into 'clout' enrollment

Crain's Chicago Business reports:
It looks like Chicago Public Schools may have a University of Illinois-style clout problem with enrollment at its elite schools.

CPS boss Ron Huberman announced Wednesday morning that he's launched a probe into possible irregularities in the district's selective enrollment practices, "based on information that recently has come to" his attention.

"Existing policies may not have been followed," Mr. Huberman said in a press release, adding that he has directed the system's inspector general to review the matter.
No word yet from Arne Duncan on this, since he was in control when some of this went on.
