Bronx group honors gridlock-causing Pedro Espada as 'Senator of the Year'

The New York Daily News reports:
Irony of ironies.

Sen. Pedro Espada Jr., who spearheaded a nearly five-week Senate gridlock that paralyzed much of the state's business, got a "Senator of the Year" award Thursday night from a Bronx group and reveled in it.

"I am very proud to be a troublemaker," Espada declared in accepting one of the Edward A. Stevenson Community Service Awards. "I feel very privileged and honored."

Great moments in Blue America.
