Alderman Burke's Indicted Client Hires Michael Jackson's Attorney

The Chicago Sun-Times reports:
He doesn't do the moonwalk or don a diamond-studded glove.

But indicted Chicago developer Calvin Boender must have deep, diamond-studded pockets because he has somehow snagged Michael Jackson's onetime attorney Thomas Mesereau for his defense team.

The celebrity lawyer famously defended the mega-pop star in 2005 when Jackson beat child molestation and conspiracy charges. A year earlier, Mesereau won a murder acquittal for actor Robert Blake.

Now, Mesereau plans to fly in to Chicago to represent Boender, the little-known, but politically connected businessman who's accused of bribing indicted Ald. Ike Carothers (29th).
No word yet from whether Alderman Burke is getting a referral fee on this one.
