Anti-Gun Zealot Cook County State's Attorney Anita Alvarez a Supreme Court Contender?

Chicago Public Radio reports:

Illinois U.S. Senator Dick Durbin says the president should look first to Chicago for his Supreme Court nominee. Durbin's short list for the court includes a newly-elected Cook County official.

Senator Durbin's list includes federal appears court judges Ann Williams and Diane Wood, district court judge Ruben Castillo, and Cook County's State's Attorney Anita Alvarez. Alvarez, who was elected just last fall, says she was surprised and flattered to be included on that list. She says, probably, all lawyers dream of being considered for the Supreme Court.
