Rattner Firm Used Indicted Adviser to Gain New Mexico Business

Bloomberg reports:
New Mexico’s State Investment Council, alerted to federal and local probes of New York pension- fund kickbacks, said an indicted political adviser helped federal auto taskforce head Steven Rattner’s former private equity firm obtain state business.

New York-based Quadrangle Group LLC and the world’s second- largest private equity firm, the Carlyle Group of Washington, used New York adviser Hank Morris, according to a list of third- party brokers released by the council. Morris was charged last month with soliciting millions of dollars from firms doing business with the New York State Common Retirement Fund.
