Chicago Mob's Joey "The Clown" Lombardo sentenced to life in prison

The AP reports:
Reputed mobster Joseph "Joey the Clown" Lombardo has been sentenced to life in prison, blamed for murdering a federal witness as a leader of Chicago's organized crime family.

The 80-year-old Lombardo was convicted along with four other men in September 2007 at the government's Operation Family Secrets trial - the city's largest mob trial in decades.

"The worst things you have done are terrible," U.S. District Judge James B. Zagel told Lombardo, who heard his sentence Monday while sitting in a wheelchair.
