Pelosi outlines aid package for US automakers

The San Francisco Chronicle reports:
Pelosi did not mention any plans for the UAW to make any concessions as part of the legislation.
and
The government would get an ownership stake in the auto companies in exchange for the loans to ensure that taxpayers would get their money back if they return to profitability.
No word yet on whether The Tribune Company or The New York Times will seek the same deal which the auto companies are seeking. The media companies may feel Nancy Pelosi and Barack Obama owe them because of all that positive coverage.
