Mass. Turnpike board approves toll hikes

The Boston Herald reports:
A debt-ridden Mass Pike is pushing the financial pain onto motorists who now face massive toll hikes that could take effect as early as March.

Public hearings and a final vote are still needed, but $2 tolls at the Weston and Allston-Brighton booths and a whopping $7 fee at the Sumner and Ted Williams tunnels are coming down the Pike.

The Massachusetts Turnpike Authority board approved the hikes today in a 4-1 vote, arguing they have no other solution.
It's expensive to pay state troopers more than the Governor.
