Obama Campaign E-Mail Promises "Previous Donor" to Match Every Dollar You Give

We don't claim to be an expert in campaign finance law but,here's a quote from Obama's campaign in a new e-mail:

if you make your first online donation today, your gift will go twice as far. A previous donor has promised to match every dollar you donate.

Can this "previous donor" give more than $2300 bucks? Maybe someone else on the web can answer this.
