The forced bankruptcy of former political fundraiser Antoin "Tony" Rezko can proceed after a decision Tuesday by a judge in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Chicago. This is very interesting.Rezko helped Obama buy his house, but didn't have much money.Sounds like someone else was "helping" Rezko out.
Rezko's Wilmette neighbor, Semir Sirazi, had filed a petition this year seeking $18 million he contends he and two of his corporations are owed by Rezko. U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Carol Doyle on Tuesday rejected a motion by Rezko to dismiss the matter.
Sirazi is one of the founders of U.S. Robotics' network system division and testified at Rezko's corruption trial this year that Rezko started bouncing checks to him in 2003. The testimony came as prosecutors were outlining how Rezko's finances were crumbling.
