Republican Dennis Hastert Defends Chicago Democratic Machine

John Kass reports on the strange world of Illinois Republicans.Former Speaker of the House Republican Dennis Hastert doesn't sound too much like a Republican:

In a recent FOX News interview between Republican cheerleader Sean Hannity and former U.S. House Speaker Dennis Hastert of Illinois, Hannity asked Hastert about the Chicago Democratic machine. Hastert—who didn't mention he'd been lobbying for Blagojevich's humongous inflated budget plan—defended the machine.

"Now, it's changed a little bit. You know, what has been coming and plagued the current government [of] Gov. Rod Blagojevich are the same people who have enabled and helped Barack Obama in this city. So it's not necessarily the machine, but it's the ancillary people out there feeding the machine."

That's right,the former Republican Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives is lobbying for Democrats.
