John Edwards on the Bill Clinton- Monica Lewinsky Situation

USA Today report on John Edwards:
Edwards, who said in a statement that he "became increasingly egocentric and narcissistic" in the course of several campaigns, arrived in the Senate in 1999 during the Clinton impeachment hearings. He said at the hearings that Clinton's affair with Monica Lewinsky "has shown a remarkable disrespect for his office, for the moral dimensions of leadership, for his friends, for his wife, for his precious daughter. It is breathtaking to me the level to which that disrespect has risen."
You wonder how Edwards could have gotten away without the media reporting on some of his background so long:he's not a Republican candidate for President.
