The National Review reports:
Obama notes that his opponent, Senator John McCain, voted with President Bush 90 percent of the time. Obama sides with Mayor Richard M. Daley 100 percent of the time, whether in regards to Stroger’s election or anything else that helps keep Chicago politics dirty. That is the real Barack Obama — not the smooth-talking Greek god who plays a reformer on television, but the man who has never met a Daley-backed Chicago pol he could not support. He doesn’t work against politicians for whom Tony Rezko raises money.
Why didn't Barack Obama speak out against Mayor Daley's Hired Truck program run by Roti family relative,Chicago Mob bookie,
Nick "The Stick" LoCoco? Here's the Chicago Sun-Times:
Nick "The Stick" LoCoco, a reputed mob bookie and city employee, for years would decide which dump trucks got work in the Transportation Department as part of Mayor Daley's corrupt Hired Truck Program.
So, of course, LoCoco picked his own truck, the feds alleged Friday in a criminal complaint against LoCoco.
LoCoco sneaked his truck into the program under another company's name and made $8,000 a month from the city, prosecutors allege.
The dump truck even provided a retirement benefit of sorts for LoCoco. The city was leasing the truck from 2001 to this year, two years after LoCoco retired. He makes $44,000 a year from his city pension.
I guess Barack Obama doesn't mind supporting Mayor Daley and resisting change in Chicago.
