Chicago cop arrested for bribery

The Chicago Sun-Times reports:
A Chicago Police officer was arrested today for allegedly extorting money from tow truck drivers — the second cop busted by the feds in a widening scandal involving tow trucks.

Michael J. Ciancio, 56, is charged with soliciting bribes from a tow truck driver in return for the driver getting towing business at accident scenes.

Ciancio was netted in a 16-month investigation by the FBI, Chicago Police and Internal Revenue Service. He was scheduled to appear before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Mason today.
Great moments in the gun control town of Chicago.
