Jesse Jackson vows to Prevent Gunshops in Chicago

The AP reports:
In the wake of this week's Supreme Court ruling overturning the District of Columbia's handgun ban, the Reverend Jesse Jackson says he will fight to keep any new gun stores in Chicago from opening in residential neighborhoods.

Jackson said Friday that he would work with other ministers and city officials to win legislation that would keep gun stores away from churches, schools and playgrounds.

There are no gun stores currently operating in the city of Chicago.

Thursday's Supreme Court ruling has already resulted in a lawsuit seeking to overturn Chicago's handgun ban, which is similar to the District of Columbia's.
