It's been a busy year so far in the "Bank Robbery Capital of the World."
The FBI's Southern California district, which includes Orange County, earned this nickname for historically having more bank robberies than any other FBI district. This year there have been 63 bank robberies in Orange County, up from 54 halfway through last year, said Stephen May, the bank robberies coordinator for the FBI's L.A. field office.
