Republican Candidate Asks About Corruption in Cook County

Cook County Republican Tony Peraica asks:

US Attorney makes more arrests. Where is the Cook County State's Attorney?

NBC 5 Chicago reports here that the US Attorney has arrested 15 more people working in the Department of Building and Zoning.

"Fitzgerald made the statements when he announced the arrests of 15 people, including seven city inspectors, on federal bribery charges for allegedly exchanging cash payments and other benefits to falsify or expedite building, zoning and related permit matters."

My question is where is the Cook County State's Attorney? Anita Alvarez is the former head of corruption task force for the Cook County State's Attorney. She couldn't find what has been descriped as a "systematic and long standing" bribery and corruption in Chicago, yet the US Attorney has come in and made over 20 arrests in just over a year of investigating.
