The Chicago Tribune reports on America's most conflict ridden politician, Alderman Ed Burke:
Ald. Edward Burke (14th) once again was the alderman who was best able to supplement his $104,101-a-year salary as a City Council member, according to 2007 financial disclosure statements released by the city Friday.

Under the city's ethics ordinance, aldermen are required to disclose outside income. They also must reveal if they made at least $5,000 from any investments or if they or their spouses were paid at least $5,000 by a company that does business with the city or another local government body, including the CTA and the Chicago Park District.

Burke, an attorney and alderman for almost 40 years, reported making at least $5,000 from each of 38 law clients that do business with local government, including American Airlines, Walgreens, Walsh Construction Co., Palumbo Bros. Inc. and American Trans Air.
