Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Wright is Keynote Speaker for Detroit Branch NAACP 53rd Annual Fight for Freedom Fund Dinner

Here's a press release on Rev. Wright:
The Detroit Branch NAACP today announced that Reverend Dr. Jeremiah Wright will deliver the keynote address at the 53rd Annual Fight For Freedom Fund Dinner. Exploring the theme "A Change Is Going To Come," the Fight For Freedom Fund Dinner will be held Sunday, April 27, 2008 at Cobo Center in Detroit.

Rev. Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright, Jr. became Pastor of Trinity United Church of Christ (TUCC) on March 1, 1972. Within a matter of months he demonstrated an understanding and deep commitment to help TUCC achieve its motto and vision. The motto, "Unashamedly Black and Unapologetically Christian," was a phrase coined by his predecessor, the Reverend Dr. Reuben Sheares, and was officially adopted by the congregation shortly after Pastor Wright began his ministry.

In addition, CNN anchor Soledad O'Brien will bring a preview of CNN's "Blacks in America" documentary and serve as a special guest announcer at this year's dinner. Dennis Archer, chairman of Dickinson Wright, will receive the Detroit Branch NAACP Lifetime Achievement Award; and Eleanor Josaitis, co-founder of Focus: HOPE and Charlie Gilliam will receive the Detroit Branch NAACP Freedom and Justice Award.
The NAACP has a sense of style.
