Obama in 2004 : 50 Year Old White Guy Wants to Hunt Because Unemployed

Talking Points Memo unearths this Obama interview from 2004 with Charlie Rose.Obama takes the standard liberal,elitist,if not Marxist attitude: the white working class needs to cling to things like guns and religion because the economy is bad(even though 2004 was no recession year by any standard economic calculation).Obama,as you can see,really sees no need for people to hunt.Hunting is Marxian "false consciousness" in which the white working class rube fails to understand the government's grand healing powers of total security.Obama's views on guns are mainstream views in the slow or no growing cities of San Francisco,Philadelphia,Chicago,or any place where tenured professors live.We've got the feeling that Obama's ready for tenure but not the Presidency.
