Democratic Congressman Wants Home Invasion to be Federal Crime

The Hartford Courant reports:

Days after the homicide of a constituent, U.S. Rep. Christopher Murphy, D-5th District, said Wednesday he would propose making home invasion a federal crime.

"This very clearly has stirred the conscience of the state and has threatened the security that many state residents have taken for granted for many years," he said.

We wonder whether Congressman Murphy sees any limit to Congress making laws.
