Indiana school rejects Hillary Clinton visit

The Indianapolis Star reports:
A state legislator says the decision by South Bend school officials to turn down a high school visit by Hillary Rodham Clinton is shortsighted.

Democratic Rep. David Niezgodski says a town hall meeting by Clinton would have given Washington High School students a chance to see history up close. Niezgodski has two children at the school and has written school district leaders to protest the decision.

School officials say Clinton’s visit would have interfered with the school day. They also worried that the visit would give the impression the district was endorsing Clinton.
We think separating politicians from public schools is a great idea.
