Former Chicago Alderman Arrested For Trespassing

The Chicago Sun-Times reports:
Former Chicago Ald. Dorothy Tillman says she was the victim of excessive force after police in Alabama arrested her Sunday morning for trespassing at the hospital where her aging aunt was seeking care.

"They pointed a Taser at my heart, they threw me down," she said, noting that she was donning one of her signature hats and it flew off as police and security guards cuffed her arms and legs before taking her to jail.

Police in her native Montgomery, Ala., along with Jackson Hospital officials, confirmed she was arrested in the emergency room. Tillman refused to leave, they said.
Among Tillman's great achievements in Chicago's City Council is voting on the resolution to honor the life of Alderman Fred Roti.
