Chicago Cop considers guilty plea in bartender's beating

ABC TV Chicago reports:
A Chicago police officer is apparently considering a guilty plea in the beating of a bartender.

Anthony Abbate is accused of punching and kicking a female bartender at a Northwest Side tavern last year. It was captured on surveillance video and got attention around the world.

Abbate's lawyer, prosecutors and a judge conferred Wednesday, apparently to discuss a possible plea deal. The judge ordered a pre-sentence investigation.

Abbate is scheduled to be back in court next month.
