Obama calling youth to service

The Chicago Tribune reports on Comrade Obama's call for youth to serve the state:
Obama said he would expand the size of the AmeriCorps public service program from its current 75,000 positions to 250,000 slots; double the Peace Corps program that Kennedy founded from its current 7,800 volunteer positions to 16,000 positions by 2011; and create a national online network, modeled on Craigslist, to connect volunteers to service opportunities.

He also said he would set a goal of encouraging high school and middle school students to perform at least 50 hours of community service per year. And he proposed a tax credit to pay up to $4,000 of college expenses for students willing to commit to 100 hours of community service a year.

"Make no mistake: our destiny as Americans is tied up with one another," Obama said. "It is time to recapture that sense of a common purpose: I am my brother's keeper, I am my sister's keeper."
Comrade Obama gets religious.I get some people on the Left don't mind religion in the public square.
