The Governor Who Doesn't File His Taxes on Time:Rod Blagojevich

Sauk Valley.com reports:
We've been keeping an eye on Illinois' governor and his taxes for the past several years. We've wondered aloud why Blagojevich - who is on top of so many functions of state government - can't stay on top of his income tax returns and file them by the mid-April deadline.

Instead, he routinely files for and receives a six-month extension - a perfectly legal request - then drags his feet until perilously close to the mid-October deadline before finally submitting the federal and state tax returns for himself and his wife, Patricia.

The tax returns of elected public officials are news, of course, no matter when they're filed, so reporters pored over Blagojevich's documents this week to see what they could find.
