Former FBI Supervisor: Chicago Mob Found Employment in Chicago's Government

The Chicago Tribune reports on former top ranking FBI agent James Wagner. Here's Wagner's comments on the Family Secrets trial:
"This trial showed how many of these guys had jobs where they worked for the city or at McCormick Place," Wagner said. "When you look at the number that have been connected to the Department of Streets and Sanitation, the Water Department, it's hard to explain without the idea of clout being a factor."

In addition, a former Chicago police officer, Anthony "Twan" Doyle, was convicted of leaking inside information to the mob about the then-covert Family Secrets investigation.

"It's a problem Chicago has preferred to ignore," Wagner said.
One of those convicted was "made guy" James Marcello. Here's a little employment history of the now convicted Marcello:
He worked for Chicago's Department of Streets and Sanitation as a laborer from 1960 to 1973, but it has been his other jobs, like working as the No. 2 man for "Wings" Carlisi, that spoke to his true talents.
No word yet from Mayor Daley on how these sorts of people get on the City of Chicago payroll. The all Democratic town of Chicago sure has "progressive" values.
