NAACP blasts Michigan Supreme Court's ruling

The Detroit Free Press reports:
Detroit Branch NAACP officials blasted the Michigan Supreme Court Wednesday, accusing the court of turning Michigan into "the Mississippi of the North" with its ruling requiring photo identification for voting.

At a press conference at Detroit NAACP headquarters, the Rev. Wendell Anthony, the Detroit branch president, called the ruling a "dismantling of equal rights and protection for all Michigan citizens" supported by a "flimsy rationale."
