Chicago Principal linked to changed grades

The Chicago Sun-Times reports:
Officials are investigating charges that a South Side elementary school principal forced teachers to change grades, potentially helping some failing students graduate, Chicago Public Schools officials said Friday.

The principal, Eugene Taylor, was removed from the school Thursday and has been reassigned while CPS investigates the allegations at McKay Elementary School, 6901 S. Fairfield.

CPS investigators are checking to see whether 23 students whose grades were changed, and who then graduated at a ceremony June 9, would have been promoted without the boost. It's possible some will have to take summer school or tutoring -- or worse.
You mean Chicago Public Schools aren't as good as they say they are? The values of the public sector.
