The Chicago Sun-Times reports on the public education racket in Chicago:
The cost of building a new Westinghouse High School has skyrocketed, to nearly $103 million, far beyond the $63 million for Little Village High, according to plans approved Wednesday by Chicago School Board members.
Westinghouse is one of nine new high schools planned as part of Mayor Daley's Modern Schools Across Chicago effort. It will be the the most expensive CPS school when it opens in the fall of 2009 at Franklin and Kedzie.
Yet,just yesterday,the
Chicago Sun-Times reported these interesting facts:
Chicago public schools may have to slash 270 teaching positions because of an expected enrollment drop this fall of 4,000 students, officials said Tuesday.
CPS officials expect enrollment to plummet to 409,000 this fall, the fifth year in a row
What a scam.
