Massive LAUSD pay hike proposal withdrawn

The L.A.Daily News reports:
A state assemblyman Wednesday said he would withdraw his proposal to raise Los Angeles Unified school board member salaries by 600 percent to $171,000 a year, adding he now thinks voters should determine their pay.

Assemblyman Mervyn Dymally, D-Compton, said he will withdraw an amendment tacked onto Assembly Bill 68 that would have allowed board members to become full time and vote themselves the large wage increase.
