Chicago Aldermen Sue Over Morgan Stanley's Ties To Slavery

The Chicago Sun-Times reports:
Two City Council members want a judge to stop a private firm from operating Millennium and Grant Park garages and force the company to come clean about its ties to slavery.

Aldermen Dorothy Tillman and Ed Smith filed a lawsuit Thursday against the city, which is set to enter a 99-year lease agreement with Morgan Stanley Investment Management to run the parking structures. Morgan Stanley declined to comment.

The suit, filed in Cook County Circuit Court, asks for an immediate injunction to block the $563 million contract from being signed because of Morgan Stanley's "deception" about its past ties to slavery.
Harold Stanley belonged to an interesting group.
