Man Finds Taxes Aren't Voluntary

The Chicago Sun-Times reports:
A tax protester who didn't pay taxes for seven years -- arguing they're voluntary -- now must do three years of involuntary confinement.

On Wednesday, Robert Kelliher was handed the federal prison time after failing to pay the Internal Revenue Service nearly $100,000.

A jury convicted Kelliher in July after an IRS investigation.

In issuing his sentence, U.S. District Judge Rebecca Pallmeyer also didn't buy Kelliher's story that several court rulings meant paying federal taxes was voluntary. She said she doesn't think even Kelliher believes what he's saying.
I guess terms like "voluntary contributions" and "membership dues" don't apply to financing the state.
