Since his summer trial, Sorich has twice testified with immunity before a federal grand jury probing City Hall hiring corruption. But Durkin said Sorich didn't have anything juicy on Daley to give the feds, even though "there's no question that's what they're trying to get."No comment yet from Mayor Daley and Rahm Emanuel.
Durkin wouldn't say what Sorich talked about, but he said the feds didn't like his answers.
"I don't think they like it because they, of course, think everything at City Hall is about [corruption]," Durkin told reporters. "They don't like to hear it's different than what they think."
In court, however, Durkin was concerned that Sorich's recent compelled testimony would be used against him at sentencing. Assistant U.S. Attorney Patrick Collins said he had no intention of bringing up those details.
