Screwdriver stabbing in Chicago's Loop

The Chicago Tribune reports:
A 31-year-old man was stabbed with a screwdriver in Chicago's Loop this morning and severely wounded, police said.

The victim and his assailant were arguing on the street around 1:30 a.m. at Adams and State Streets before the stabbing occurred, said Central District Lt. James Sazama said. The attacker fled.

The victim was taken in guarded condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said.

Sazama described his attacker as a tall, slender man in his 20s.

No one was in custody. Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
No word yet from the gun banners on whether Chicago should pass an ordinance banning screwdrivers.
