Chicago's Ban on booze at strip clubs will stand

The Chicago Sun-Times reports:
The Illinois Supreme Court Thursday upheld a Chicago law that prohibits the sale of alcohol at strip clubs in a landmark ruling that defines how communities can combat obscenity.

The state's high court agreed that the city was within its rights to strip Pooh Bah Enterprises of its liquor and business licenses under a 1993 ordinance that barred the sale of liquor in businesses that allow nude or semi-nude dancing.

Pooh Bah operates VIPs strip club at 1531 Kingsbury and, because of its protracted legal challenge of the city law, is the only place of its kind within Chicago that is able to serve liquor and allow semi-nude dancing.
