Blacks get only 9% of the City of Chicago's Contracts

The Chicago Sun-Times reports:
African Americans received only 9 percent of the $1.76 billion in city contracts awarded through July 31, reigniting a seven-year-old political firestorm that could backfire on Mayor Daley if he chooses to seek re-election in February.

In October 1999, African-American aldermen raised the roof after learning that black contractors had a 9 percent share of the city's purchasing pie, even though Chicago's overall population is 36.7 black.

Now, they're right back where they started
Amazing.A city where all the politicans are Democrats.Doesn't the Democratic Party in Chicago care about Black people?
