Chicago Public Schools Get Failing Remarks

Crain's Chicago Business reports on a new Civic Federation report on the Chicago Public Schools:
CPS’ costs for worker compensation have grown 21% in just four years—despite a decrease in student enrollment—with benefit costs up 40% in the same period, the report says. The situation with pensions is particularly bad, the report says, with already-mandated CPS contributions scheduled to quintuple to $266 million a year by fiscal 2015.
Only in the public sector could costs go up why the number of students goes down.
