Nashville Is Voted Most Livable City

The Tennessean reports:
Nashville is the perfect place to live and work.

Or so says a "50 Smart Cities" ranking unveiled Monday by Washington, D.C.-based Kiplinger's Personal Finance, which in its June issue names 50 American cities that it says offer the best combination of a vibrant economy, lively culture and affordable living.

"We wanted to find American cities that offer the best overall value but which don't compromise when it comes to quality of life," said Robert Frick, the Kiplinger's editor who spearheaded the project.

Nashville had exactly the qualities the magazine was looking for, Frick said, including affordability, moderate weather, a diverse economy, quality education and a thriving local arts scene. Trailing Nashville in the top five were Minneapolis-St. Paul; Albuquerque, N.M.; Atlanta; and Austin, Texas.
Good weather, nice people, the lack of union problems, and a desire to have middle class housing make Nashville a triumph.
