Liberal Blogger Claims Conservatives Welcome at New School

Eric Alterman claims conservatives on campus can reach their potential:

Even if you leave Falwell out of the equation, you have to admit, Liberty University is the kind of place where if you do not do as everyone else does in say, matters of religion or sexuality, you are either harassed or banished. Freedom of thought or of speech is anathema. At a “liberal” school like the New School, you can do whatever you wish, be whomever you wish to be. You can even be a conservative. You just can’t force other people to be like you. (Though you are welcome to try to persuade them.)

How about that one for the howler of the day.We aren't aware of many or any "conservatives",registered Republicans,or evangelical Christians making tenure at the New School.We doubt the student body has too many outspoken Christians.The recent flap with Senator McCain speaking there is quite interesting.If Alterman was so correct about the New School there might be John McCain's views represented on campus.Obviously, there's isn't because if there were McCain speaking would be no big deal.Liberty University probably has much more diversity of opinion.
