CBS TV Chicago reports:

(CBS) CHICAGO The chief of staff for Gov. Rod Blagojevich on Friday revealed that the governor has fired two top personnel aides.

Blagojevich also turned over to federal prosecutors evidence that the pair illegally manipulated hiring procedures affecting dozens of job applicants.

As CBS 2 Political Editor Mike Flannery reports, the governor revealed all this as the Chicago Sun-Times was preparing to publish a story about the hiring scandal.
