Democrat think-tank aims to chart new course

The Financial Times reports:
Robert Rubin, the former Treasury secretary under President Bill Clinton and most influential economic adviser to the Democrats, on Wednesday launched a think-tank aimed at influencing Democrats’ economic policy and charting a course “diametrically opposed to the current policy regime”.

The Hamilton Project, named after Alexander Hamilton, the first US Treasury secretary, hopes to revive debate on economic policy at a time when Democrats have been accused of lacking a clear strategy.
Does Robert Rubin really believe that the Bush administration is nothing more than a growth and extension of FDR's New Deal? When we think of "diametrically opposed" to the current administration we think of eliminating whole government departments.Getting rid of Social Security and Medicare.Calling for the elimination of the federal income tax.No word yet on whether Robert Rubin is going to call for these actions.
