Hundreds, if not thousands, of Social Security numbers are posted on the Ohio Secretary of State's Web site, despite the fact that courts and other state agencies are routinely advised to remove such personal information from public records.We here at Newsalert feel sympathy for all our Ohio readers.The state of Ohio has made its residents targets of identity theft.Maybe having Social Security numbers isn't such a good thing.FDR was really dishonest when he said Social Security numbers wouldn't become a national ID.
But Assistant Secretary of State Monty Lobb said Wednesday there is no plan to pull the numbers off the site.
"We have followed the law," he said.
