Nevada unemployment lowest in 30 years

The Review-Journal reports:
Unemployment in Nevada plunged to a seasonally adjusted rate of 3.6 percent in January, the lowest rate in at least 30 years, the Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation announced Monday.

Jim Shabi, an economist with the department, said the jobless rate is the lowest since the state adopted its current way of calculating unemployment in 1976. The department checks payroll records once a year and makes estimates by surveying businesses about their employment in other months.
The triumph of Nevada.
