On Wisconsin magazine has a profile of the godfather of America's Social Security program:Edwin Witte.Check out the 1912 photo of young Edwin Witte with members of University of Wisconsin's Socialist Club.Often times we forget that Social Security really was based on socialist principles promoted by committed socialist activists.We bring this up because it's politicallly incorrect to even mention this.
