German autoworkers conduct 'warning strikes' to press for raises

The AP reports:
Factory workers at companies like Ford, Opel and DaimlerChrysler temporarily walked off their jobs Wednesday as part of a series of warning strikes to put pressure on employers over demands for higher wages.

The brief warning strikes, in contrast to massive protests this week in France, are a common tactic in German pay negotiations and are aimed at demonstrating union resolve without seriously curtailing production.
Another great moment in the European socialist paradise.
