Nevada's rate of growth has slowed slightly, but the state still holds the title of fastest-growing in the nation, according to new population estimates.The trend continues.
Aided by rapid growth in bedroom communities around Las Vegas, the state population climbed by 108,000 people - or 4.5 percent - from July 1, 2004, to July 1, 2005, when the total reached 2.51 million. That's a 0.5 percent decrease in the rate of growth from the year before, according to a report released Wednesday by the state demographer.
