The Doctor in the Shopping Mall

The San Francisco Chronicle reports:
The doctor is in and now seeing patients in a shopping mall or street corner store near you.

LiveWell Medical Clinic opened late last month in San Bruno's newly remodeled Tanforan Shopping Center, sandwiched between a T-Mobile shop and a clothing store. It does business 74 hours a week for both appointments and drop-in consultations. If a doctor is not immediately available, the clinic will page or call patients when one is free, so they can shop while they wait.

QuickHealth opened its second outlet last month in Farmacia Remedios, a drug store in an San Francisco's Mission District. It prides itself on offering consistent, quality service in a comfortable setting along the lines of Starbucks coffee shops. The flat fee to see a doctor is $39.
The instant doctor.
