Chirac Warns Media Over Cartoons

The BBC reports on Jacques Chirac warning:

"Anything that can hurt the convictions of another, particularly religious convictions, must be avoided," he said. "Freedom of expression must be exercised in a spirit of responsibility.

No word yet on whether Chirac is concerned about those who use the press in France to promote higher taxes and spending.Some people are offended by that.
