San Diego City Worker Held in ID Theft

The San Diego Union-Tribune reports:
A San Diego city employee accused of stealing water customers' personal information from a computerized billing system pleaded not guilty yesterday to identity theft and other charges.
You mean trusting the government with personal information isn't a guarantee that everything will be safe? This notion of the government centralizing information to "provide security" is an open invitation to identity theft.
